Dr. Jason Knouft (CV) (email) (Phone: 314-977-7654)
Professor, Department of Biology, Saint Louis University
Director, Freshwater Policy Institute, National Great Rivers Research and Education Center
Expert Consultant, Water and Climate Security, U.S. Department of State
Research in my lab focuses on understanding the impacts of climate and land use changes on freshwater resources. We integrate genomic to whole organism biodiversity data, outputs from hydrologic models, and field-based environmental data to examine contemporary and future impacts of human activities on freshwater systems with the intent of contributing to the development of
adaptation strategies that result in sustainable freshwater resources.

Dr. Alejandra Botero Acosta
Research Scientist, Water Institute, Saint Louis University
Alejandra received her Ph.D. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from the University of Illinois. Her research experience has focused on developing hydrologic models the estimate the impacts of land use and climate on hydrologic processes and water quality. Alejandra has served a key role in the hydrologic modeling component of the NSF funded Hydroclim project and is now supported through the Water Institute at Saint Louis University developing projects focused on the sustainablity of freshwater systems.

Dr. Binbin Wang
Postdoctoral Researcher, National Great Rivers Research and Education Center
Binbin received his Ph.D. in the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment at Cornell University. His research experience has focused on the role of thiamine in regulating stream ecosystems as well as numerous projects investigating the impacts of human activities on freshwater systems. Binbin is currently leading the Emerging Contaminants project at the National Great Rivers Research and Education Center as well as continuing his work on stream ecosystems.
Dr. Ali Hassan Shabbir
Postdoctoral Researcher, Taylor Geospatial Institute
Ali received his Ph.D. from Northeast Normal University in China. Ali has expertise in remote sensing technologies and is working on global water security issues.
